Next comes the extension of al-Hakam II (962–966), the most artistic section of the complex, where the domes, the axis towards the Mihrab and the work with Byzantine mosaic tesserae linked to Nikephoros Phokas are explained, with a colour palette reaching up to 19 shades and abundant gilding. This section also includes features such as the Puerta del Tesoro (Treasury Door) and the sabat, the passage that connected the palace area with the sacred wall.
In parallel, the tour addresses the Christianisation of the building after Ferdinand III entered the city in 1236, and its later evolution up to the major intervention of the cathedral transept (1523–1603), commissioned under Charles V and carried out by the Hernán Ruiz family of architects. The final stretch covers the main altarpiece (1618–1646) and the 18th-century choir stalls by Pedro Duque Cornejo. The monstrance made by Enrique de Arfe around 1500 is also mentioned, along with the stonemasons' marks studied by Manuel Ocaña.
The last Islamic phase covered is the extension by Almanzor (991–994), visible in the growth towards the east and in the change in execution compared to earlier stages. The visit ends inside the monument, exiting through the Puerta de Santa Catalina.
